Wind

The word "wind" is either a noun or a verb. This word has two pronunciations. Let's see its meanings below.

1. [ T ] cause (somebody) to be out of breath
wind3 /waɪnd/ verb - past tense and past participle: wound /waʊnd/
1. [ I, T ] (cause to) move in a curling twisting manner:
The river winds (its way) through the countryside.

2. [ T ] turn or wrap (something) round and round something else.

3. [ T ] (up)// cause (a clock, etc) to operate by turning a key to tighten the spring.

4. [ phr v ] wind something back, down, forward, etc: cause something to move backwards, down, etc, for example, by turning a handle:
wind a window down.
